This is just Eli... hanging out one morning before I had to leave for work. He was being especially silly but as soon as I would get the camera to take a photo or video, he would stop.... of course!

Just a Dog

From time to time, people will say to me "lighten up, it's just a dog," or, "that's a lot of money to spend on just a dog." These people don't understand why we travel the distance, why we spend the time, or incur the costs for "just a dog."

Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog." Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog," but I did not once feel slighted. Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a dog," and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a dog" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.

"Just a dog" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust and pure, unbridled joy. "Just a dog" brings out the compassion and the patience that makes me a better person. Because of "just a dog" I will rise early, take long walks, and look longingly to the future.

So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a dog" but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment. "Just a dog" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day.

I hope someday that those people can understand that it's not "just a dog" but the essence that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a person."

Eeew... Gross Cereal!

This was my first attempt at spoon feeding cereal. I think I WORE more on my person than Eli actually ate. Nice, huh?

WT: 15lb 12oz
HT: 25 inches

His 6-month appointment is on 6/20/08.

Elias with the Arant Girls

Oh, this was a fun day! The Arant girls came and spent the night at our house after an afternoon of swimming. I wanted to wash the sunscreen off of Eli's delicate skin and the girls BEGGED to take a bath with him. It was so stinking cute that I had to take some pictures!

Angel's Wedding....

Here are a couple pictures from Angel's wedding. Eli was so good the entire time. The videographer said that they will see a lot of Eli in their wedding video because he was just too cute not to include!

Sitting Up!

We recently bought this "thing" called a Bumbo. I never realized how helpful it would be when I needed to make dinner and have the baby close and entertained. Eli loves to try and eat his toes when he's in the Bumbo. Too funny!
